PMS smoothie

PMS affects around 90% of woman, but there is no need to suffer in silence, changes in your diet can help to balance hormones and improve symptoms.

This PMS smoothie contains slow releasing carbohydrates (oats) and protein (yogurt, nuts), which boost levels of the happy hormone serotonin, helping to regulate your mood around the time of the month. Mixed with soya milk, which contains phytoestrogens to help manage estrogen levels, enriched with calcium and vitamin D, which not only help to build strong bones but can also ease symptoms. Add Banana’s that contain B6 and avocado to give it a creamy delicious taste as well as providing essential fats and magnesium known as nature’s tranquilizer to help you feel more relaxed.

  • Half a ripe avocado
  • 1 ripe banana
  • 1 cup Organic soya milk enriched with calcium and vitamin D
  • 1 table spoon oats
  • 1 tsp. ground almonds
  • 2 table spoons organic natural yogurt
  • 2 ice cubes
  • Pinch of cinnamon or cardamom to taste

Blend all ingredients in a food processor or with a hand blender and enjoy!.
